Description
This course provides an in-depth analysis of the cell – its molecules, major components, processes, and evolutionary history. Key concepts include the structure and function of the eukaryotic cell, its organelles and other structural components, the cell cycle, cellular communication, energy transformation, protein trafficking, gene expression and its control, and the evolutionary history of cells. How these topics relate to healthcare, modern science, and their importance for everyday decision-making will be emphasized. Laboratory is included.
