Description
This course will focus on the functioning and process of the juvenile justice system and explore the historical foundations and contemporary juvenile justice system. Various theories of delinquency, pathways and risk factors of delinquency will be examined. Focus on potential solutions to delinquency, weighing the costs and benefits of these various actions, and how to rehabilitate both low level and serious and chronic youthful offenders will be included. Prerequisite: CRIM230.
