Description
An introduction to fundamental thermodynamics and statistical mechanics concepts including temperature, heat, work, internal energy, entropy, kinetic theory of gases, equations of state, first and second laws of thermodynamics, distribution functions, and Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics. Prerequisites: PHYS 227 and MATH 246, or equivalents.
