Description

The course will introduce students to psychological and behavioral aspects of sport, exercise, and physical activity. The course is designed to help student-athletes improve their performance, and to help those who hope to work with amateur and/or professional athletes or those engaged in fitness, exercise, and/or rehabilitation to effectively communicate and motivate their clients toward their goals. In addition, this course will explore factors that affect performance and psychological development in sport, exercise, and physical activity, factors that influence behavior and effective goal-setting, and will examine psychological techniques for enhancing sport, exercise, and physical activity. Prerequisite: PSYC101 or consent of the instructor.
