Description
Eco-Writing introduces students to writing practices that directly engage with how we see, represent, experience, damage, draw inspiration from and create the physical environment. Writing and creating art enables creators to theorize about humanity’s relationship with nature, understand how ecological issues impact our communities, and help us to imagine better and more harmonious ecological futures. Students will examine and participate in the tradition of nature writing by reading prominent nature writers and writing about nature for themselves. Through their writing, students will experiment with different types of eco-writing and approaches, as well as develop some creative and communicative strategies for engaging an audience in environmental concerns.
